Python Workshops


The FOSSEE team at IIT Bombay offers training programs in Python. These are in thethe form of live assisted remote/interactive workshops which help participants gain hands-on experience in Python through a series of practice sessions (more than 50 problems)and quizzes.   1. Any person with basic knowledge of using a computer can attend this workshop.

  2. The minimum number of participants (students, faculty) will have to be 50.

  3. Coordinator(s) are to be nominated by the institute to arrange the workshop.

  4. A room with projector, webcam, speaker, microphone, high speed Internet are required.

  5. All learning material will be provided to the institute prior to the workshop.

  6. It is mandatory for all participants to have access to a working laptop/desktop with internet access.

  7. Video lectures provided by us should be broadcasted to all participants.

  8. FOSSEE instructor will be available on video/audio chat during the workshop.

  9. All sessions will have a Q&A time followed by online quizzes monitored by us.

  10. Certificates shall be issued to coordinators and passing candidates.

  11. All related local expenses to be borne by the host institute.

  12. Detailed instructions for the workshop will be provided after the approval of your workshop request.

For Introduction to Scientific Computing using Python (ISCP) workshop: Rs. 150 per participant.

For Basic Programming using Python workshop: Rs. 500 per participant.

 

Only a coordinator can register. Each participant is not required to register individually.

Note: The Coordinator is a person nominated by the institute and is in charge of organizing the workshop.

For Participants:    

  • Online certificates will be rewarded to participants who clear the tests.

The grading system is as follows:

Anyone interested in learning python irrespective of their domain can participate.


  1. Do we get certificates?

 Yes, graded certificates shall be issued on successfully clearing our post-workshop assessments/tests.


  1. Will the coordinators receive certificates?

Yes, even the coordinators of the workshops are awarded certificates


  1. How many coordinators are required to conduct a workshop?

One coordinator per 50 participants.

Yes, of course. This is open to anyone from any field who is interested in learning Python.

Sure!


  1. Are these workshops provided to individuals as well?

Currently, this program is exclusively available for institutes only.


     14. What are the materials required for the workshop?

A room with projector, speaker, laptops/desktops for every participant, high speed internet and one laptop with a webcam.
